Tina kirk paints from her heart. Her paintings usually depict women withlayers and textures woven into the surface.
These women vary from wistful—to sad or happy—to beautiful or troubled—but all are complex in the emotions they convey.
Tina paints exuberantly. Her paintings have evolved from the simple and naive ones she created when she began
painting about seven years ago. It is probably her lack of formal training that allows her
to explore mediums and techniques as well as her painting style with such freedom. Tina loves to visit thrift stores to find recycled
pieces that she can use as part of herwork. A lot of Tina's own emotions are
evident in her art. When her mother passed away a little over a year ago, Tina’s faith
became more evident in her work: she painted many angel images—in fact almost all
she painted for a while were angels. Tina lives in rural Jefferson County with her
husband, has two grown children, a new grandson who she adores.
